Maglite Review

Review of my maglite 6 D-cell flashlight. Very good light, would be better if i had a more powerful LED in it, but it works for how much i use it (very seldom).

55w halogen h3 but it would probably melt the lens!
the only thing i dont like about it is the batteries rattle about when you swing it.
it deffinately does that. its almost diabolical with the weight and power of one of these when swung.
that shouldnt be too hard, go to auto zone or radio shack, they should have a bulb capable of handling that. might take some modifications in the housing, but it could work.
im thinking of modding one of these by putting two mag charger batteries in it, yes they fit. Then the only thing I have to do is find a light bulb that will handle 12v
iv got one of these, i keep it in my car for protection
Tried the Magnum Star, the difference between that and the standard krypton bulb is visible but not by much (although it probably is better than the cheap LED’s).
Probably the best way to go for an easy to install LED would be one of the Terralux/Luxeon models. Either the TLE-300M for raw power or the TLE-6EX if you want to still be able to focus the thing.
where is a good place or any place to buy a upgrade kit and how much are they?
haha, thanks, ill bear that in mind. i really dont use it all the time, hardly at all actually, i have other flashlights i use, but thanks for mentioning it!
alright mate, LED’s are ok for battery life but for decent performance you want a Magnum Star Xenon Bulb upgrade (about £5) and it’ll partially blind people!
