For many years Woolworths was the sixpenny store…From the 20s through to the 60s they made and sold their own brand of records. From Jan 1931 until August 1935 these were issued on the Eclipse label. Some of the most popular stars of the 30s recorded on the Eclipse label including Lesley Sarony,Sam Browne,Harry Leader and his band,Cavan O’Connor,George Van Dusen and as here,Bertini and his Tower Blackpool Dance Band. This is Bertinis final recording fron February 1935 and is the popular Fox-Trot ‘I believe in miracles’ with vocal by Donald Peers. The Eclipse series of records were 8" in diameter and ran for over 1000 issues.
